I was lucky enough recently to help a darling client lease an apartment in Downtown Austin at the Ashton Austin. It was so cool to get a chance to learn more about this hot opportunity to live in the thick of the 2nd Street District, with nightlife, food, boutiques all within walking distance
Located at 101 Colorado, the corner of 2nd & Colrado, the location is fabulous! Some of the great businesses nearby within a block or two are:
Milk & Honey Day Spa
Jo’s Coffee Downtown
Cru Wine Bar
The new W Hotel – which will house a live music venue very soon
and way too many more! Check out http://www.2ndstreetdistrict.com/ for all the scoop on the neighborhod!
As for the Ashton itself, the immediate feel when you walk in is luxury, but not stuffy. We immediately met & chatted with a happy resident. The concierge was super friendly and a really nice guy.
The lobby has a business center, where residents can use computers, scanners & fax, there is also a conference room which you can reserve for business meetings if you work from home. There is also a cool hang out room with starbucks coffee, tea, hot chocolate & a catering kitchen, just past this is a dining area, which residents can reserve for a dinner party! Next to that is a wine cellar with climate controlled bottle storage!! you can store your finer wines there, while keeping the rest in the wine rack that each unit has. There is also a movie screening room. Residents can use it for private screenings or sometimes the management will have a fun movie night.
So on to the units – we only looked at 1 bedrooms. and at this time there were only 2 floor plans available. They were lovely, sophisticated paint colors. HUGE walk in closets, full size washer & dryers, high ceilings, killer views, high end appliances.
Prices start at around $2200 a month for the one bedrooms up to about $2600. 2 bedrooms are in the $3k to $4k range. These are for the floor plans that are currently availalable, the rest are on waitlist.
There is trash disposal on each floor, recycling on floor 6.
And umm, the pool, the pool is to die for. Infinity edge, with a South facing view of Ladybird Lake. Gorgeous. There are grills, a fire pit, lots of seating and an indoor hang out area.
Ther is a workout room, and apparantly a personal trainer lives in the building and you can schedule sessions with her. One of the perks I loved the most is Bicycle checkout! If you don’t own a bike, check out one of the Ashton’s, free, and go explore the awesome downtown, or bike it on down to the hike & bike trail right across the street.
Parking is $75 a month & there is no guest parking, possibly the only drawback.
My client was smitten immediately, and she was able to fill out the applications right there in the business center, get approved on the spot and lock in her move date. Couldn’t be easier.
