If you live in Northwest Hills chances are you probably know about this house on the corner of Waterline & Deepwoods.  My kids & I call it “the scary house” – we’ve been driving by it and trick or treating there for years!

We enjoy following the progress as they start to place the decorations in the beginnning of October. Driving by every week or so leading up to Halloween. On Halloween night we make a trip there. The whole block gets in on the action with elaborate decorations, porch parties, it’s a very festive atmosphere. But the scary house with it’s myriad of horrors is the main attraction. There’s so much to see, creepy bodies hidden in the bushes, gory details in each scene, amusing grave stones. There is always a line to trick or treat, but the line is worth the wait, they give out full size candy bars!

Here are a couple of  neighborhood things you may not know about unless you lived there!

The “scary house” – as my kid have always called it. Located on Waterline, you can’t miss this house during Halloween time. Super mega extravagantly decorated people travel from all over to trick or treat for full size candy bars and to admire the display.  Over the years the neighbors nearby have started to join in the on the contaigious atmosphere and now it is literally a block party! We like to watch the progress as they start to put out decorations starting October 1st

The goose – without fail, this resident on Edgerock dresses her goose statuette up complete with accessories and “friends”.  Often the goose’s outfit reflects the season, holiday or local event
