What: Do Overs allowed is one of my diehard mottos – this book is about how women can reinvent their lives either out of unforseen necessity or choice. A great positive approach!

Austin Marathon
When: Sunday, February 14th starts at 7am
Where: start line on Congress just north of the bridge, Finish Line on Congress & 10th. But the course goes all thru the town check out the Austin Marathon website for all the scoop on the route, it’s FUN to cheer on the runners. AND this event is near and dear to my heart as I book all the Bands on the course and the fabulous finish line band El Tule. All info on the webiste! Lots of great food trailers at the finish line too, Sugarstar Cupcakes, Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, mmmpanadas & more!
Mardi Gras
Fat Tuesday the 16th – party on 6th street with beads, parade and all round craziness
Chinatown New Year – Year of the Tiger – yowza!
When: Friday Feb 19th & Saturday Feb 20th
Where: Chinatown Center Austin North Lamar at Kramer
What: the full schedge is here – but there will be the traditional dragon dance with super LOUD firecrackers, if your kids is scared of loud noises don’t go or prepare well. I spent one year carrying and holding the ears of one kid and that part was not fun. Many other dance performances, amazing food, really soooo thrilling
Carnaval Brasileiro
When: Saturday Feb 20th
Where: Palmer Events Center
What: Live Samba music in true Basileiro style crazy costumes and conga lines, redic fun! deets at website Sambaparty
That Takes The Cake – yummmm
When: Saturday & Sunday Feb 27th & 28th
Where: The Crocket Center, 10601 N. Lamar, Austin TX
What: Cake art! A cake show & competition. Demonstrations, on site decoration contests, classes. And there better darn well be tastings. Kid events too, kid cupcake decorating! thattakesthecake.org

Where: University of Texas Performing Arts Center AKA Bass concert hall
