First of all Red River Free Week is happening now! Free music, every night, on Red River! It goes through January 9th so it’s not too late to partake – check out the schedules & bands – RED RIVER FREE WEEK
Second of all the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is FREE for the whole of January! A great great opportunity to visit this beautiful place

Star of Texas Tattoo Art Revival – at the Palmer Events center – $15 a day, weekend passes available, kids 12 & under free. See some of the best tattoo artists from around the country, even at least one from Japan that I noticed. There are daily tattoo contests, go show off your ink! The Ted Roddy Elvis Show – annual Elvis Presley birthday bash featuring the incredible Ted Roddy at Austin’s legendary Continental Club on South Congress, two shows! Kids welcome at the matinee! Check out Ted Roddy’s website for details
January 11th all the way thru Februay 12th – a MONTH
Hyde Park Theater Frontera Fest – offbeat, fringe theater for a month, this is very fun! Check schedule HERE

Martin Luther King March & Festival! – The March starts at the MLK Statue on UT campus at 9am and ends at Huston-Tillotson college for a fun festival! Check out mlkcelebration.com for info
Sunday January 30th
3M Half Marathon & Relay – if listing this doesn’t inspire you to run, at least be aware of road closures! I ran this half marathon 3 years ago and lets just say I didn’t run out of band aids & post-its for long long time…great goody bag. The race is almost full – register HERE
